For its pioneer project for the year 2016, Philcopy Cares goes tree planting with the theme "Plant for Earth." Over 500 seedlings were planted by a total of 30 persons who registered for the activity.
The Plant for Earth Tree Planting activity was held on July 16, 2016 in Barangay Sto. Nino, Tanay, Rizal. After the prayer and opening remarks, the DENR representative, Ms. Julie Mustafa and the People's Organization representative facilitated the orientation on the importance and benefits of the activity to the environment. The proper handling of the seedlings prior sowing it into the small pit of soil earlier prepared by the representatives of the People's Organization were also taken up.
As urban people, we are so used to living a fast paced lifestyle and we often take for granted the gift of nature. But through this activity, the participants were able to realize the importance of giving back to nature and to show their care for the environment. To Philcopy Cares, the efforts were very fulfilling knowing that it is being done for a cause which would benefit our Mother Earth.
The tree planting event ended by 10:30 AM and after a quick lunch, the group was bound for Manila by 12 noon.
This activity is part of the massive rehabilitation program of the government which seeks to grow 1.5 billion trees in 1.5 million hectares nationwide within a period of six years from 2011 to 2016. Philcopy Care is indeed very lucky that it became a part of this endeavor.
